Which Penang hotel do you recommend & why?

All in Georgetown:
1. Bayview
2. Cititel
3. Berjaya
4. Sunway
5. Evergreen Laurel
Sacha D – Oh we determine with u there yet expensive. we requisitioned Golden Sands for 3D/2N though, some-more affordable. I’m right away referring to Georgetown hotels for an additional 3D/2N..
Sniper – TQ yet given we already requisitioned Golden Sands, cite road house during Georgetown centre.

Suggestions:


1. Never stayed at Evergreen Laurel so can’t comment. As for 1 – 4, i would choose bayview. Ask for room in thier new wing, it’s more spacious & their twin beds, it’s more the size of queens than single. No doubt Cititel is more centrally located but their rooms are much smaller. Berjaya & sunway are just ok. .

2. Never stayed in those hotels.
   I stayed at Shangri-la Resort in Batu Feringgi Beach and just 20 minutes from Georgetown.
   Nice area indeed…..nice beach…..
   good hotel

3. Have you consider Paradise Beach Hotel as it is half way between George Town and Batu Feringgi! It is value for money. I have not stayed any of the above hotels!

4. Both Bayview and Cititel are good choices and about the same in terms of pricing which is reasonable. Also within walking distance to the night life which is in Upper Penang road. Shops and food are not a problem as there are many in the area. They are a stones throw from each other so check them out individually before you choose.

5. erm… since not really know whats the main point you ask so…
   i just try my best to give my comments…

   bayview and cititel are just nearby… cititel is more nearby to the centre of town… the special of city bayview is: it have a moving restaurant up there at the top…
   sunway also is just nearby the centre of town… and its just a few minutes walk to get the varieties of penang famous hawker stall
   berjaya and evergreen is kind of at the same area which is near to gurney… but the evergreen is just exactly at gurney…
   and among the 5 hotels… as i know, the evergreen is the most expensive (if just compare these 5)
   but if you want the most high class hotel in the town area… may be you can try… shangrila hotel, or the most expensive hotel in penang (recently if i am not miss of updated) is E&O hotel… which is so historical…

6. In your list, i ll choose City bay view, Citidel and Sunway. its a walking distance to food and and pubs and the rate are reasonable.
   Evergreen is slightly on the expensive and berjaya no info.
