There are 11 suggestions to question “What is the nicest hotel you have stayed at in Bangkok and why please?”

  1. Le Meridien Plaza Athenee’ Hotel during my first trip to Bangkok in 2004. Great hotel, nice rooms, firm beds, nice bathrooms, wonderful lobby, good coffee shop and good morning breakfast buffets. It had just re-opened as the Plaza Athenee’s Hotel. From what I understand it was the Inter-Continental which is now down the street. Another 4 star hotel. Every thing there is 4 or 5 star. And the room rate at the time was USD 100 per night, now you cannot touch for less than USD 140 per night. Very nice restaurants are just a 5-10 minute walk to the Four Season plaza/mall. Other are a 5-10 minute walk to Rama I/Sukhumvit Road. And it is centrally located to Sukhumvit, Skytrain, Silom etc.

  2. I’d strongly recommend Grand Millennium Sukhumvit Hotel http://www.discovery-thailand.com/Hotels%20Map%20Pages/Sukhumvit%20Hotels%20Map.html .
The hotel is near lots of amenities, shops, pubs, bars, restaurants so walking is an easy way of visiting the area. Sukhumvit is lively but not noisy. It’s also a five minutewalk to the sky train so seeing the city as a whole is cheap and convenient. Also very friendly and motivated staff. I like the bath room very much. We can enjoy watching TV and movie from bath tub over the bath room window. There is even an audio speaker as well.

    Have a nice trip!!

  3. Sukhothai.

  4. baiyoke sky.great one for cheap price.

  5. I stayed at Shanghai Inn in Chinatown and it was beautiful. I think it was about $80 per night.

  6. The bel-aire princess ,just off sukhumvit rd ,great location for everything -sky train & shopping are @ 30 metres away

  7. The JW Marriott Hotel $274 per night because I could.

  8. Silom City Hotel:

Very cheap (I paid 20 UK pounds for a LARGE double room)
    Spotlessly clean
Within walking distance of skytrain and nightlife
    Excellent food

  9. Amari Atrium Bangkok

  10. i’ve been to BKK over 15 times n tried diff htls. i would say Shangri-La stil the best as it’s just located next to the famous river there. v spacious rm compared w/ the others. largest swimming pool (business htl) in BKK. of cos cannot compare the pool at the Marriott Resort & Spa. but aldy v v comfy + on the riverside. lovely restaurants especially the Angelini Italian. walking distance (5 mins) to the skytrain so that u can choose to not into their horrible traffic jam. yet, it’s exactly a ‘shangi-la’ inside this v busy city.

  11. I had been to Bangkok with my family in June 08, during the 3 days, we stayed in Baiyoke sky hotel (sky zone) nice day/nite serenery, food with wide spread. Room is big enough for 2 adults with 2 kids. & hotel do provide free shuttle bus to Siam Paragon every hourly (first come first serve basis).
