Travellers Palm Hostelworld Kuala Lumpur Malaysia

**The strange song in this shave has been transposed by audioswap after a copyrights issue** My initial revisit to a Travellers Palm Lodge (Budget Hostel) in Kuala Lumpur was 5 days (28th Oct. 2007-2nd Nov 2007). This year you stayed in a Travellerspalm 3 nights (September 2008) & fourteen nights Sept./Oct. 2008. Since Suzy (The Hostess/Manager) devoted us to be usually Guessts in a Travellers Palm, whilst she was celebrating Hari Raya-AidIlFitri elsewhere during a single week, you had a great …

  1. ALERT ALERT ALERT

  2. Through Audioswap the music on this clip had been changed because of a cpyright issue :)

  3. The Chinese Association is still nextdoor (Very friendly people allthough one young guy has a strange ritual with his nose because his hayfever ;)

Suzy had plans to expand & rebuild some parts.

  4. The “association” next door was the place where I used to learn ‘lion dances’ and play ping-pong. I spent most of my pastimes there from the ages of 10 to about 18. Haven’t been there for more than 20 years.

Next month (March 2009) I’ll visit home and visit this place again after all these years. The hostel’s location used to be a trading company’s office.

  5. well, i advise that next time you are there, turn the lights out at night and wait about 2 minutes then turn them back on.
SURPRISE!!! – an army of bed bugs appears!!

yeah i had to laugh when reading that guestbook. Others had come across the bedbugs – there were blood smears all over the walls + bed.
Rather than comment they got the hell out of there!!

i’ve travelled extensively through asia, always stayed at cheap guesthouses (eg. $2) and never have experienced such appalling conditions.

  6. you are not making much sense here sorry….

who cares if someone turned up in stylish clothes?
    wtf???

  7. Absolutely, I have experienced Malaysia as one of the Best countries to be in Many ways allthough I spent most time in a smal village nearby Raub (Pahang State) where you will find zero Tourists or Nightlife and just few of the mainly Chinese speak zero or just a few words English :)

  8. Also a team of young Dutch Development Doctors came there with quite stylish clothes.

They were quite charmed with both the athmosphere & service.

It’s not possible to please everybody.

    Sorry for your frustration.

By the way : Ever tried deepfried bugs while you were in Asia ?

I didn’t , but some say they are dilicious.
I might try next time and decide I don’t like them.

What a boring world it would be if we were all the same.

    P.S. : I consider boredom a wonderfull Luxury I hardly know

  9. I have spent there a couple of times and have met quite a few regulars there.

Also the logbook over some years had 99.9% good comments.

Begin November 2007 when I stayed there with my 76 years old mother in one of the small rooms downstairs she had no complaints other than the size (She being used to 3 or 4 stars and being a cleanfreak that says something)
Additionally being on special diet , Suzy provided my Mother with food she collected at the supermarket for which she charged nothing extra

  10. This place was one of the worst I’ve ever stayed in 18 months of travelling in SE Asia. Eaten alive by bedbugs, a stink you can’t imagine leeching into EVERYTHING we owned. Noticed you didn’t show the rooms – downstairs sweat boxes with no windows, no ventilation. Bathrooms in terrible condition – small, broken shower heads, poor pressure and dirty. Would never in a million years recommend this to anyone. Suzi needs to stop pulling the wool over traveller’s eyes – she knew about the bedbugs!!

  11. Looks great! I like that it gives people more of a feeling of living like a Malay, a bit of “going native” as some travelers like to say.
KL is an excellent city, the downtown is fun, and safe, to get around and walk around.
