There are 6 suggestions to question “Sabah, Kota Kinabalu attractions for 7 days?”

  1. I travel to KK very often because of business. I always stayed at the Promenade hotel. My last trip there, I was not given to my regularly room and they give me a room at 13th and it was haunted. I asked for a change of room, the receptionist told me the whole hotel is full and they know and can felt why I need a change of room. I dare not go back to my room so I waited in the lobby till the next morning. They change another room for me the next morning but in the afternoon, I got a call from my family telling me that my grandma passed away. I rushed back to Singapore and never want to go back there again. These happen 5 years ago. So do not get a room at the 13th floor!

  2. definately is too much. i will suggest u to spend more time in kl or maybe u can spend ur time in some ‘long house’-house of the traditional

  3. Definately too much time!

Just came back from KK, Sabah.. We stayed for 6 days.
Promenade Hotel is located in the town. You might need to rent a vehicle as waving down a taxi may cost you RM20 per round. And you are bringing along a 2 year old, so i assume you want a more educational tour?

Places you can visit in town are…
    1) Muzium Sabah (day)~ a combination of museum about sabah histories, cultural villages full of traditional houses, islamic revoultion, art galleries, petroleum museum…
    2) Waterfront (night)~ Nearby your hotel, walking distance.
Restaurant outlet,Local Night Market (with fish, veges). It is opposite Warisan Square.
    3) Gaya Street Sunday Market (sunday morning)~ Souveniors… But you have to negotiate price. Similar can be found in Filipino Market.
    4) Filipino Market ~ local market with a good selection of souveniors. Here you can get it at a very cheap price but you have to negotiate. I will suggest you ask the price first. Becareful of your personal belonging.
    5) Floating Mosque(day) ~ but the scenic is quite breathtaking at sunset.
    6) Tanjung Aru Beach

I can cover all this place in 3 days. But for 7 days u might want to consider to go to kundasang, at Bukit Kinabalu. Nice scenic, weather not so hot, you can see the famous Mount Kinabalu upclose.

    Good Luck..

  4. Depends on what you want to do … for example

    1) Island hopping from Pulau Sapi to Pulau Manukan etc will take up easily 1 day

    2) A trip to the Klias river to see proboscis monkey (Dutchman of Borneo) also one day

    3) Monsopiad Cultural Village at http://www.monsopiad.com plus others like Museum also one day

    4) A trip to Kundasang/Ranau to see Mt. Kinabalu also one day … many things to see … check out http://www.sabahtourism.com to get more information

    5) You can sample the many coffee shops selling noodles with fish parts … there is one famous one by the name of Ocean King … another is Wan Wan … or just lepak at the Tanjung Aru beach with your kids ..

Bottom line is …. you look for things that are different or cannot be found in KL while in KK … shopping for branded items is not advisable as you have definitely more varirties in KL …

Enjoy ur stay in Sabah …

  5. If I start typing now, I won’t finish until tomorrow and I don’t want you to read a super long explanation but please go to this website http://www.sabahtravelguide.com , it has every single information you need and it is definitely one of the best guide site ever..Enjoy kota kinabalu.. By the way, the Promenade hotel is exactly in the city centre and you will be close to the waterfront.. there are so many varieties of good food along the waterfront… Once again, enjoy your stay!

  6. erm…. at the nearest travel agent look for two days tour at Mt kinabalu…. is nice for visiting the natural place in KK…..

then go to shopping center at the warisan square…. then look for food in there also… or go to waterfornt in front of warisan there but is only on business at night….

then go to visit the zoo in lokawi…. if love island then go to visit those islands in KK….. can stay there at the island resort..
