There are 4 suggestions to question “planing to go to Malaysia?”

  1. Wow, your trip is soon too. I’m going back to Malaysia for my third visit on the 5th of December. You may want to consider flying into Singapore because the tickets may be cheaper. Then spend the money you saved to fly to Penang or Melaka. Actually, I would fly to Penang or Melaka and then spend time in Penang and Lankawi. Penang has good food and you can purchase pewter and batik. You can go from Melaka to Penang by bus. In Penang you could go by taxi to the Copthorne Orchid Hotel. In Melaka you could go to hotel Equatorial. If you do spend time in KL you may want to stay at Allson Genesis Hotel.
If at all possible, get a few more days for your vacation so you can spend two or more days in Singapore.
Also, you can catch a fast boat to Lankawi from Penang.. I did not get to go there yet.
I have been reading over many of the questions and answers on this yahoo questions thing and there is so much good information that people are sharing. Also you can check out virtualtourist.com for helpful tips on keeping out of trouble.
Have so much fun in Malaysia!

  3. 1. Two cities I would suggest to you is Kota Kinabalu, Sabah or Penang (North of Malaysia). For hotels -see below

    2. If you go to Kota Kinabalu from Kuala Lumpur, the only choice you have is travelling by air whilst if you go to Penang you can travel either by air, bus, charter taxi, or even by train. I would suggest you go for the second city then only you come to Kuala Lumpur because KL International Airport is only 45mins drive from the city.

    3. There a lots of things you can buy in Malaysia (at a very affordable price, since you will be using US dollars).. such as songket, batik, silk, pewters.. to name a few. You can always go to Central Market in Kuala Lumpur, Central Marker in Kota Kinabalu and even souvenirs shops in Penang. Try to avoid buying in a hotel since its quite pricey.

    4. You can ask the concierge section in a hotel for suggestions on places of interest, and tell them whether you would prefer historical spots / shopping / village / beaches .. etc.

    5. there a quite numbers of restaurant in our famous mall in Suria KLCC, Kuala Lumpur. You can try our locals, middle east, indians, chinese, japanese .. you name it, they have it :)

Lastly, congratulations on your honyemoon & do not forget to refer to your hotel in regards with you places of interest, shopping places & transportation. :)

  4. hii there… welcome to malaysia..
im a malaysian from penang. First when u reach malaysia, u will be in Sepang Airport, Kuala Lumpur. if u wish to visit KL first, then you can stay in Genessis HOTEL, Bukit Bintang. its almost 45 minutes journey from the airport. u can either take KL Monorail from airport or cab. Monorail is much more better cause its cheaper than cab. there are few train service services which you can take to KL Sentral and from there the hotel is walking distance. About food, u can find it all over Bukit Bintang. to go anothere city, if u want to come pg, you have to take bus which takes 5 hours journey. the bus ticket u can get in Pudu Raya or in Bukit Bintang as well. its about RM35-40. if u wish to visit penang plzs mail me at umabaran@yahoo.com
