nice hotel- equtorial hotel. (5stars).its right next to a mall..real pretty...there's also tons of trishaws around that area...so you can check that out

as for food, you should head to jonker walk...its this street-esque shopping with souvenirs etc... you should check out ais-kacang, with the famous gula melaka

Nice hotel in town - Renaissance Hotel Malacca. 5 stars. Opposite road there is Orkid Hotel - I think 3 stars.

Nice food - try the chicken rice in balls. Malacca favourite chicken rice variety. If you want some local produce try "Tan Kim Hock". The shop is located in town a stone throw away from Renaissance. There are lots of food to sample in Malacca - try Nyonya cuisine, should not miss out.

I don't know where to get nice satay celup. Normally I like to eat Satay Kajang.

erm... if u dont mind mimosa hotel is juz as nice. centralized location... can easily walk to most attractions easily, although it may take some time.... but in return, you get a thorough look at malacca, which i think is worthwhile... as for food, the chicken rice ball from farmosa stall is nice... chendol is also nice but cant figure the exact location... so i leave it to you to explore it...
