I trained with Datu Kelly Worden in Tacoma Washington for 2 years and I was there when he “invented” the travel wrench. The title “datu” was granted him by the late Remy Presas, founder of the modern arnis system. I will say that having trained in the Philippines with the masters there, NO “foreigner” is a “datu” in the Philippines, Period. Either way Kelly’s a great guy, all be it a bit of an ass.
