There are 4 suggestions to question “Is Le Meridien Kota Kinabalu a good location for both City and beaches?”

  1. The hotel is located right in the heart of the town. No worry about transportation. It’s a nice 5 star hotel. I stayed there before few years back.

  2. The Le Meridien is located in the city, but is not anywhere near the beach (sandy), although it is within walking distance to the sea-side (sea wall) and is not a resort-type of hotel.

    The Rasa Ria is a beach(sandy) resort hotel away from the city, but the hotel provides, for a fee, frequent shuttle services to and fro the city.

    An alternative is Shangri la Tanjung Aru Beach Resort: http://www.agoda.com/asia/malaysia/kota_kinabalu/shangri_la_s_tanjung_aru_resort_spa.html?type=1&cid=1413892&url=http://www.agoda.com/asia/malaysia/kota_kinabalu/shangri_la_s_tanjung_aru_resort_spa.html&tag=a254602d-47f4-45b6-a4b6-839b2d134ec4&gclid=CO-gu86YzZ0CFYIvpAodtQ_zrg

    Or

    Nexus (beach resort) :http://www.nexusresort.com/new/

    Island tours can be arranged at the tours desk at the hotels….

    Other hotels cheaper, non beach in the city (4-5 star)

    * Hyatt International Kota Kinabalu
    * Promenade Kota Kinabalu

    [more: google for key words: Hotels Kota Kinabalu Sabah; Sabah tourism; etc.

  3. I was in Kota Kinabalu back in 2007 (for 5 days) and stayed at Le Meridian. Its near to the seaside (not beach but a retaining wall – yet crystal clear water). Its also within a walking distance to the famed Philipino Market – well known for its pearls. Le Meridian is in the town center. No worries about transportation. Take note though that hiring tours from hotel can be pretty expensive. Try local tour agents.

  4. No Le Meriddien is located in the Middle of the city, no beach. If you want beach stay at Shangrilla Tanjung Aru the cheapest rate is RM600 plus 10 minutes from city using car
