There are 10 suggestions to question “Is it wise to travel to Singapore to Malaysia in a bus??”

  1. Bus travel is ok from Sg to KL.

You may check with the following agencies for Malaysia Travel:
    http://www.gunungraya.com/
    http://www.grassland.com.sg/

They may have very good package (hotel & bus) with 3-4star hotels.

If you like to take train, this is a useful site with links.

A very cheap no frill hotel in KL,

    Hope this helps.

  2. It’s ok to travel Singapore to Malaysia by bus if you don’t mind the travel time.
Singapore to Malacca is 3-4 hours
Singapore to Kuala Lumpur is 8 hours

    for hotels,
    in Singapore, try Fragrance Hotel
    in KL, try Allson Genesis

  3. it is definitely nice to travel from Singapore to Penang and KL by bus as you can see lots of things along the road, you can try Transtar Travel that i found on 88db for coach services, or you can also look for tour packages to Malaysia…have fun

  4. Aeroline bus is a comfortable bus that you can take from Singapore to Malaysia or vice versa. Also goes to Penang.

In KL, you may want to consider staying in a boutique hotel known as SeaPark Brickhouse in Petaling Jaya. This home ambient guesthouse is about 30 minutes drive away from KL.

  5. Singapore to Malaysia by bus is very common. It’s just a 1hr++ flight so most people go by bus. If you would like to go by bus,try Luxury Travel(Singapore-KL and back only) or the famous Grasslands Travel or Five Stars. But the queue for immigrations at Malaysia is very long. Another option is to go by the KTM train that goes all the way to KL Sentral. But it’s dirty… Longest travelling time.Chewing gum in Singapore is banned for your information. Hotel:Singapore-Quality Hotel, Hotel 81 is like 2 stars or so if you don’t mind,2 levels or so and there are many branches.Kuala Lumpur-Istana Hotel,Penang-Traders Hotel. Hope the information helps.

  6. bus is the best mode of transport, cos planes is overprice for such short distance, train is cheap but very slow.

in sg look for hotel81, lotsa branches all over the island. in kl, tune hotel is cheap too.

  7. No. It’s better to crawl and roll.

  8. Yes, it is. Buy a ticket from Queen City Terminal to Johor Bahur. Then buy a ticket from Johor Bahru to KL. It is much cheaper and takes the same amount of time.

  9. From JB (Larkin) to Singapore (Queen Street), there are bus number 170 & Causeway Link & SJ Express..
If go to Woodland, the bus number start from 9xx

  10. Yes, bus is only 5-hour ride vs 7-hour ride thru train. As for us, we tried Aeroline bus last year from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur then back. Advance booking is available online with option to choose your seats. With regard to 3-4 star hotel in KL, I would highly recommend Corus hotel because its cheap and very accessible. Corus hotel is a few minutes walk from Petronas Twin Towers, KLCC Station and Suria KLCC. Feel free to visit my blog to see my 2007 Singapore – Kuala Lumpur – Genting Highlands Trip Journal.
