Is it safe to plug a Mac Powerbook adapter into Bangkok hotel outlets?

The energy adapter says 100-240Volts. Will this wrok in Bangkok?

    Suggestions:
  1. As long as your equipment has a inbuild transformer or it reads 100 – 240V you are safe to plug it anywhere in the world. The US uses 100-120V whereas in asia we use 220-240V in the past equipments are build for the country they originated from and you would fry the circuits if you plus a US equipment into asia plugs. But these days most devices has a transformer build in so no worries.

  2. yes, no problem

  3. The electricity here in Thailand is 220v 50 hz, your Mac will work just fine. Most hotels plugs will also accept the two blade plugs with the ground pin ( the same as in the US), although some use the round pin type plugs and many plugs here will accept both: http://www.kropla.com/electric2.htm

  4. Yep.

Be careful if using the Internet from your Hotel. If not included in your room it can get expensive!

  5. Yes and all new laptops have transformers that manage the voltage change. You may need a converter for your plug though. There probably isn’t a 3 prong outlet in your room.

Many hotels have horrifcally slow connections so if yours is one check out the link I am sending for free wifi.

Also some hotels screw you royally for internet access so I hope the free list I am sending has some spots close to you.

    Good Luck
