Kuala Lumpur is a great place to be in for it represents modern life that is steeped in culture. At one end, you may find huge malls stocking luxurious renowned brands but on the other side, you can find historical buildings that have stood the test of time. Kuala Lumpur is also the gateway to more fascinating places in Malaysia, like the historical city of Melaka, flavourful Penang and the many quaint and pretty islands. So, the first thing that everyone needs to do before or upon reaching Kuala Lumpur is to find great value Kuala Lumpur hotels to spend the night or two in, maybe even more.
How does one find Kuala Lumpur hotels that are great value for money? Easy! Search in the following places:
• Travel sites
Sites such as TripAdvisor are a good place that list hotels and backpacker accommodation. The prices listed on these sites are usually the same as what you’d get if you book directly with the hotel, so you don’t need to go looking for the hotel’s official website. The best thing is that here, you get to read reviews and feedback from travellers who have stayed at the hotels. These are great in determining if the hotel is indeed value for your money.
• Travel forums
Similar like the travel sites listed above, these travel forums contain views from people who have stayed at the hotels that you are interested in. The plus point is that there is more interaction here than the travel sites, so you can ask questions and someone (hopefully) would point you to the right direction. Read previous threads for suggestions. If there aren’t any, then make a new post and you would soon have recommendations pouring in.
• Search for deals
Performing a Google search is the best way in nailing great value Kuala Lumpur hotels promotions and deals especially those that are recent or held at the last minute.
I have found some great deals simply by performing searches. The most recent one I had was a ’Stay 3 nights, free 1 night’ stay. There was also a ‘Stay 2 nights, third night 35% off’. Unfortunately, that wasn’t in Kuala Lumpur or I would recommend that but it was just to let you know that great value can be found out there.
• Ask for recommendations
There are surely fellow friends, family members or colleagues who have been to Kuala Lumpur and had a good stay. Ask them which Kuala Lumpur hotels they had stayed. If you don’t know anyone who has been to Kuala Lumpur, then once again turn to forums to get opinions.
Kuala Lumpur hotels need not be expensive. In fact, Kuala Lumpur hotels are the most reasonably priced hotels in the Asian region!
