I will be staying during a Ibis Siam, that is located at, 97 Rajaprarop Road Makkasan BKK 10400, not distant from a Victory Monument, as well as was wondering what would be a most appropriate track (public ride preferred) to a Historical sites, such as a Royal Grand Palace.
Many thanks!

Easy I have stayed there its a nice Hotel
Taxi drivers struggle a bit to find It bit theres a famous hotel near there and I have forgotten it Look at agoda.com in the reviews for Ibis Siam somebody write that in there
Anyway go out on the Main road and get a taxi and say where you want to go I reckon about 70 80 baht no more than 100 you are about 25 minutes away Dont take taxis that wait outside hotels or offer you a sightseeing trip Just say Grand palace and off you go
Take some drink with you and wear long sleeves as theres many temples nearby that you can visit The reclining budha Emerald Temple and Wat Po is across the river you can take the ferry across
Thry a night cruise also
Just ask the hotel tourism desk for help
have a great time I am there next week if you get stuck

ive lived in Thailand for four years now, have a house in Esan, took my parents to see the Royal Grand Palace and Emerald Buddha last year, easy way to get there is by Taxi, make sure its a "Taxi Meter".their very cheap.ask the hotel to phone you one,or your hotel might even have cutomer service taxi to take you there, depending how upmarket your hotel is..when you get there dont get one of the guides, see it at your leisure,Enjoy
Yes taxis are best way to get around Bangkok they are cheap and outnumber private cars by about 3 to 1.
At palace be careful of scammers who tell you palace is closed today and try to take you to jewellery stores or other places.
Do one of two things. Either take a taxi because only public transportation you will find is a bus or boat to the Grand Palace and if you don’t read thai or understand the bus routes your have a hard time. Other option is take a tour. I recommend this. They will pick you up at your hotel take you to the Grand Palace explain to you what your looking at during the tour of the grounds and take you back to your hotel. Check with your hotel travel agent. Going to the Grand Palace and not taking a tour is worthless. Remember you can not wear sleeveless tops or shorts while visiting the grounds. Showing too much skin is a no no.
best way- taxi. Cheap and fast. Stay away from those tuk-tuk things, the drivers always try to rip you off (charging a flat fee).
