I haven't stayed there, but have been by it many times. It's in a good location for shopping and eating but there's not a lot of nightlife nearby and the area around there isn't the prettiest place to stay in Bangkok.

There's shopping right in the hotel complex and a short walk to the Pratunam markets, the Platinum Mall, Central World Plaza Mall. It's also not far from Siam Square, Siam Paragon and not too far from the MBK Mall.

Much of the hotel is on a very busy street and it's about a fifteen minute walk to the BTS Skytrain.

If you're coming to Bangkok for shopping it's a good location, for nightlife you could do better. Most hotels offer free breakfast, many have pools and and many more have better locations.

You could do a lot worse, here's reviews from people that have stayed there:

The hotel is generally reviewed fairly well at a number of sites (links below).

You can also find a map here to give you an idea as to the local area: http://www.hoteltravel.com/thailand/bangkok/indra_regent.htm#map

An additional information about the Pratunam area: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pratunam_Market

it's in a good location but the hotel is quite below standard. it's by the edge of 3 stars i guess. built for a long time so it's kinda old. be v careful when back to the hotel at nite as it's in a dead end of an alley.

if ur budget ok....u should pick the amari watergate rite next to indra regent as watergate is located on the main rd....4 stars.... more spacious room. rite opp. to a retail's mall which u can hv a great bargain there.......walking distance to most of the malls....
