so you want a beach hotel,

yes Golden Sands Hotel has the best location in Batu Ferringhi, surrounded by many good restaurants, tailors ( making a custom made shirt and suit is popular among tourists in Penang, cheap and good quality ), has the most beach activities, like horse riding, parachute gliding, buggy ride, jet ski, banana boat etc.

There is a night market just outside the hotel, it short it is situated at the centre of the most happening place in Batu Ferringghi, definitely the best choice.

Call the Hotel and tell them you are on business trip with Intel Penang and your contact in Intel….Mr. Tan CK said that Intel has a corporate rate, this way you might just walk away with 50% discount

and by the way, shangri-la golden sand is one of the good hotels in Penang..maybe you should checkout on Parkroyal hotel which located next to the Golden Sand. The rooms in Parkroyal are newly-refurbished but bear in mind that the food & beverage cost you a bomb! i never eat at the restaurant except for the complimentary breakfast given with the room.

1) Shangri-La Rasa Sayang (at the beach)
Beautiful, very relaxing, great service and spa

This is a historical hotel built during the colonial period

Fun, affordable and almost 5-star, service oscillates between excellent and unprofessional
