yes Golden Sands Hotel has the best location in Batu Ferringhi, surrounded by many good restaurants, tailors ( making a custom made shirt and suit is popular among tourists in Penang, cheap and good quality ), has the most beach activities, like horse riding, parachute gliding, buggy ride, jet ski, banana boat etc.
There is a night market just outside the hotel, it short it is situated at the centre of the most happening place in Batu Ferringghi, definitely the best choice.

The rooms in Parkroyal are newly-refurbished but bear in mind that the food & beverage cost you a bomb! i never eat at the restaurant except for the complimentary breakfast given with the room.
