I stayed at the Hard Rock and Sheraton in Pattaya for about that price range, and I’ve stayed in a number of hotels in Bangkok that probably fall over 4000 baht for the night.

yes, i paid about 900 baht for a hostel per night in Bangkok but hotels are quite reasonable there. If you live cheaply and can live on less than 9000 baht a week incl. trips, food, transport, alcohol and accommodation.
